Bella on BBC Radio 2 and four star review in the Guardian

I was on BBC Radio 2 last night! On Johnnie Walker’s live show about 23mins in. You can listen again for the next week on the BBC iPlayer.

You can also read a review of my new album in todays Guardian or on their website here. Here’s a little snippet:

“a fine traditional singer and fiddle player, as she proved on her earlier albums (which included examples of her own material), but here she expands her range with an album that consists entirely of her own songs. It’s an often bleak, thoughtful set that echoes anything from British traditional ballads to country music and theatrical pop, and proves she’s a fine storyteller. Her best narrative songs are The Herring Girl, a historical tale of defiance and death that’s worthy of Richard Thompson, and Rosabel, a robust, twisting tale of love, betrayal and death, influenced by Beauty and the Beast.”
