Music from Bella's childhood
The Hardy's record collection was:
Hall of the Mountain King
The Carpenters 'California Dreaming'
Steeleye Span 'Now We Are Six'
Pinky and Perky
Rolf Harris 'Two Little Boys'
There were also a few cassettes hanging about. They were:
Simon and Garfunkle, 'Sounds of Silence'
Clannad, A Random selection
Something with Steeleye Span on one side and Albion Band on the other
Venice in Peril
Much later, Emma got a CD player, and had these CDs:
Skunk Anansie 'Stoosh' and 'Paranoid & Sunburnt'
Alanis Morissette 'Jagged Little Pill'
Del Amitri 'Twisted'
She does, however, remember all the songs they used to sing together: all the great jazz and music hall numbers her primary school headmaster Mr Irwin taught; the Irish songs Clive would sing on the back of the hay trailer; the songs that came before the harvest auction that used to happen in one of the Shirt family's barns; all the choir's carols; all the Junior choir's random attempts; the village productions (from pantomime to railway centenary) and the songs her dad used to sing at the kitchen sink (there're too many to list).
